About The Role
RAC have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Data Protection Manager to join our Data Protection Team, which forms part of RAC’s Governance, Risk and Compliance division, in Bristol on a permanent basis. This role will be delivered on a flexible hybrid model of working three days from home and two days at our Bradley Stoke office.
In this fast-paced role you play a key role in supporting the growth and innovation of the business in a privacy conscious manner. You will also be essential in ensuring that the RAC complies with all requirements imposed by data protection legislation.
What You’ll Do…
- Assist in managing and conducting ongoing reviews of RAC’s data protection framework and reporting on data protection compliance within the organisation.
- Work with the business to review projects and proposals to ensure compliance with data protection legislation.
- Review vendor contracts (including EU model clauses) needed to implement projects.
- Support on third-party audits and due diligence.
- Serve as a point of contact for data protection queries in the business.
What You’ll Need…
The ideal candidate must have previous experience of working in a data protection role, ideally for a minimum of 3 years, with strong knowledge of EU and UK data privacy, along with the following.
- Well-developed and professional interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all organisational levels of the business.
- Ability to work unsupervised, exercise leadership and influence change.
- Strong change and project management skills, including the ability to manage time well, prioritise effectively and handle multiple deadlines.
- A detail-oriented approach needed to recommend and implement strategic improvements on a range of data protection issues.
- Knowledge of PC applications, including MS Office.
