Position Overview & Specifications

Public Health Wales' Evidence Service is seeking to appoint an Information Specialist / Librarian to support our team.

The position is full time and will be based in our Public Health Wales NHS Trust offices in Capital Quarter 2, Cardiff.

The Evidence Service is looking for an Information Specialist/Librarian to provide expert advice and guidance on evidence retrieval and knowledge management and take an active role in related training, staff development and research. The post holder will work within the Evidence Service, alongside Advanced and Principal Evidence and Knowledge Analysts to ensure that the Data, Knowledge and Research Directorate delivers on its varied and challenging agenda. If you have high level of evidence retrieval skill and experience and enthusiasm for embracing new technologies, we would welcome your application.

The role of the Evidence Service is to support evidence informed decision making in public health practice, programme development and policy making. The Service does this by helping Public Health Wales staff and other stakeholders to find, understand and apply evidence. You will have a range of responsibilities within the Evidence Service supporting the delivery of excellence in public health evidence and promoting the effective use of evidence for public health action. In this role your work will be wide ranging to deliver evidence products for a range of stakeholders both nationally and locally.
