Position Overview & Specifications

Job Title: Secondary Film Teacher Location: East London

We are seeking an exceptional and innovative Secondary Film Teacher to join our dynamic and forward-thinking school in East London. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a deep understanding of the complexities and nuances of the film industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging and interactive lessons in line with the school curriculum, which are relevant to the students and the film industry
  • Collaborate with other teachers and departments to integrate film into other subjects and provide students with a well-rounded education
  • Mentor and guide students to develop their critical thinking skills and enable them to articulate their ideas effectively
  • Plan and lead after-school activities, such as film clubs and workshops, to encourage student engagement and creativity
  • Foster a positive learning environment that is inclusive and celebrates diversity
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements and innovations in the film industry to bring a contemporary and relevant approach to teaching

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A bachelor's degree in Film Studies, Film Production, or a related field
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Proven experience in teaching film at a secondary level
  • Strong knowledge of the film industry and the ability to bring real-life examples into the classroom
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential
  • Creativity and enthusiasm in delivering lessons that are engaging, interactive, and relevant
