Job Title: Support Worker

Salary: £9.50 per Hour

Hours: 13 Hours per Week

PURPOSE OF THE POST

The post-holder will work as part of a team to provide practical and emotional support to all visitors as part of the contractual service delivery at HMP Manchester. The primary area of work will be the prison visitor centre.

MAIN TASKS

Activities

Meet and greet family members and visitors in the prison visitor centre.

Contribute to ensuring a friendly and approachable environment for visitors.

Provide practical and emotional support to prisoners and their families.

Operate the tea bar within visitor centre/hall when required.

Carry out administrative tasks in respect of booking in visitors.

Supervise play activities in designated play areas when required.

Support POPS’ Family Services Lead in the co-ordination and delivery of family forums when required.

Adhere to POPS policies and procedures.

Ensure compliance with prison policies and procedures.

Participate in training that is considered relevant to the post.

Undertake any other relevant duties as requested.

To maintain confidentiality at all times.

Flexible approach to the role, including working weekdays and weekends on a rota basis.

Job Type: Part-time
