Position Overview & Specifications
Pickerings is looking for a Trainee Loading Systems Engineer who will be working towards being able to carry out servicing, repairs & installs on the associated equipment on loading bay and industrial equipment including dock levelers (mechanical & hydraulic), scissor lifts & vehicle restraints and industrial doors, gates and barriers, main duties will include internal & external training along with assessments to ensure we provide adequate training to allow you to fulfil the below engineer criteria.
This would suit someone who lives between Paisley, Glasgow, Cumbernauld, Broxburn, Falkirk, Linlithgow & Edinburgh.
Working hours, 42.5hrs per week with guaranteed overtime.

Main Duties:
· To be proficient in servicing, fault finding , repairs & Installs on loading bay and industrial equipment including dock levelers (mechanical & hydraulic), scissor lifts & vehicle restraints and industrial doors, gates and barriers – Assisting the engineer whilst in training.
· To complete service check sheets, on completion of service compile detailed report for any additional work to be carried out – Assisting the engineer whilst in training.
· To complete maintenance schedules in accordance with agreed Service Contracts – assisting the engineer whilst in training.
· Actively participate in an on-call Rota within the Region which is currently 1 in 7 – When trained and qualified.
· Conform to and utilise best practice within Health & Safety at all times.
· Traveling to and from different sites and gaining practical experience in new work zones.
· Submitting to all forms of evaluation during the traineeship.
Person specification:
· Full driving license is essential as company van will be provided
· Willingness to undertake ongoing Health & Safety training as directed by the Company’s QHSE Dept, keeping up to date with the latest health and safety guidelines and training.
· Good observation skills and a willingness to learn.
· Possess good communication and customer service skills.
· Ability to work in a team.
· Willingness to undertake competency, product & H&S training.
In addition to the above, the post-holder will also be required to undertake additional duties as appropriate to the nature and level of the role.
