About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to join and drive change within the business. The successful candidate will work closely with the Commercial Director and Operations Manager to analyse existing processes reduce waste and inefficiency and drive functional improvements
Key Responsibilities:
- Manager bookshop staff and oversee the day-to-day functions of shelving, over picking, returns, book pack collation and supply, and the management of customer visits
- Support staff by providing training opportunities to help move staff between different departments within the business to respond to changing patterns of customer ordering
- Take responsibility for the annual stock take
- Work alongside key stakeholders to ensure that SLA and customer service outcomes are met
- Work collaboratively with other key functions within the business and provide support to these teams as necessary
Key skills and attributes:
- Strong leadership background with a proven track record of building high functioning teams
- Recruit, mentor, develop and monitor performance of staff members
- Quick learner
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels - from the board room to shop floor
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise between competing demands
- Excellent written English and familiarity with MS Office plus a good working knowledge of MS Excel
- Data led approach with the ability to interpret and leverage information and statistics
Experience:
- Previous experience driving business improvement methods i.e. Kaizen, Lean, Six Stigma
- Previous experience of working in book supply or similar industries
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £28,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
