What is the role?

We are now looking to recruit a Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join a busy Commercial Team.

The purpose of the role is to be responsible for supporting Quantity Surveyors and Senior Quantity Surveyors in their commercial management duties.

The role will include:

• Undertaking administrative duties to support the team as required under the guidance of the SQS & QS
• Raising pre-agreed orders
• Reviewing subcontractor matrices
• Assist in the tendering process for new sites
• Managing the simpler payments and simpler aspects of loading budgets
• Ensure weekly and monthly payments are processed
• Assist in negotiations to obtain the optimum rates for sub-contract appointments to maximise margins
• Comply with responsibilities as defined in the Group’s Health, Safety & Environment Policy and ensure compliance with the same throughout the team to promote safety in the way we build projects

What experience, qualifications and skills are we looking for?

• Minimum of GCSE’s required
• Qualified to HNC or degree in Quantity Surveying or studying towards this level desired but not essential
• Full UK driving license is advantageous
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Fully conversant with Microsoft Package, including Excel and Word
