Overview of role

Peach is seeking a highly analytical and resourceful Senior BI Engineer/Developer to be part of a growing BI function to support the Finance, Sales and Operational teams based in London.

In this role you will be responsible for end-to-end development of building a reporting suite, designing reports & dashboards in Power BI, maintenance of the semantic layer as well as adding functionality to the new reporting system to be used for organisation reporting.

As a Senior BI Engineer/Developer, you will be a self-starter, inquisitive and bring your strong consulting, design, development, delivery, and support experience to bear and deliver outstanding data platform and analytics dashboards. This is a fantastic opportunity to work collaboratively alongside our existing team of talented Analysts and Product Engineers.

Responsibilities and key tasks

  • Understand and design business intelligence and reporting architecture, map out the end-to-end data processes/data flows and extract large datasets from multiple sources such as Google sheets, Netsuite, Hubspot, and Zendesk
  • Develop dashboards in Power BI to support data-driven decision making using your extensive knowledge in DAX and Power queries
  • Model and test data using SQL, and build and maintain dimensional or fact tables for dashboard development and strong knowledge in relational database management (RDMS)
  • Develop tabular and multidimensional models that are compatible with data warehouse standards
  • Analytically translate data into informative reports, visuals and deliver training to stakeholders to promote self service analytics
  • Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand business needs

Experience and skills required

  • Experience in visual communication of analysis in Power BI, developing wireframes, proof-of-concepts and specifications of dashboards
  • Extensive knowledge of ETL, SQL (DDL and DML), stored procedures and SSIS packages
  • Understanding of data modelling outside BI visualisation tools and map out end-to end data processes and data flows
  • Understanding the importance of interoperability and dependencies within differing datasets
  • Agile and flexible way of working with the ability to adjust to new demands with a sense of urgency and comfortable in dealing with ambiguity
  • Organised, detail oriented, strategically focused with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment
  • Ability to work independently with limited support, while aligned to weekly and daily agile governance (weekly sprints, reporting)

Background required

  • 5+ years of data analytics experience
  • Big 4 professional services environment (or those with similar skills gained in industry) experience
  • Prior experience working in a high growth start-up advantageous
  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or Master's degree in engineering, statistics or related field
  • Experience using SQL and PowerBI essential
  • Experience in AWS cloud desirable
