Role: Seasonal Gardener (this is a seasonal role)

Location: Black Beck Holiday Park (Ulverston)

Hours of Work: 8.00am - 5.00pm, 40 hours per week

Days Off: Saturday and Sunday, weekend hours maybe required during high season.

Salary: £12.59 per hour

An experienced Gardener to contribute to the park’s overall presentation, development and enjoyment by customers, with understanding and skills including; general garden maintenance, plant cultivation, plant identification, disease/pest control and decorative preparation of hanging baskets /tubs and borders whilst having excellent communication skills.

What we need from you:

• Maintain all grounds and public areas to a “five star” standard of cleanliness, tidiness, presentation and safety Maintain, develop and landscape all grounds, including grass, hedges, recreational areas, woodland, gardens and caravan pitches under the direction of the Head Gardener.
• Develop, prepare, repair and landscape Caravan pitches, including car parks, patios and paths, concrete bases, groundworks.
• Correct use of PPE To have knowledge and ability in the safe use of petrol equipment i.e. heavy duty lawn mowers, strimmer’s, hedge strimmer’s, chainsaws, blowers and hand tools.
• Pruning back trees, strimming and edging as required and highlighting when a tree surgeon is required.
• To care for, manage and develop identified garden areas ensure they are cared for, managed and developed in order that they can be used for our guest’s enrichment.
• To have a knowledge and understanding of the way in which to care for, manage and develop identified garden areas, including cultivation, weeding, edging, bed preparation, mowing and planting.
• Mulching and/or watering plus lawn care when required.
• To work collaboratively with colleagues as part of a professional team; working at all times within policies and procedures

Skills, experience and qualities you will need:

• Experience in a similar role
• Pesticides and weed killing experience - desirable
• Plant machinery experience
• Full preferably clean, driving license

• Successful applicants will also be required to undertake a basic DBS check and DVLA license check.
