Our client are a world leading recycling & distribution business with 17 sites in the UK who supply both trade, retail & industry recycling services. The company has recently grown to employ 390 HGV & LGV vehicles who serve a 24/7 transport network. With over 8,000 loads on a typical day to day basis - this is an extremely fast-paced transport operation and would suit those looking to grow and advance a career in the sector. Job Description

As a Transport Controller you will report into the Transport Planning Manager and Head of Logistics on a daily basis. You will be based at the Colwick area of Nottinghamshire and have the following areas of responsibility. This role will primarily be responsible for planning, in a timely manner transport requirements on a day 1 / day 2 basis, so that the team meet the required plan, logistics service and cost performance targets.

• Management of 50+ HGV & LGV Vehicles - a mxiture of RoRo vehicles, Skips and Walking Floor Vehicles.
• Populate and maintain scheduling and booking and tracker systems.
• Using a mix of automated and manual tools undertake transport planning and daily execution / performance tracking of Live Load Collection from farms.
• Share accurate information with own drivers and service providers to enable effective operations.
• Identify lane / loads requirements, risk and risk mitigations for own and third party providers.
• Work with internal stakeholders to utilise own fleet and third party to obtain the optimal cost

The Successful Applicant

The successful Transport Controller will be commutable to the Colwick area of Nottinghamshire. and have the following background:

• Either a Transport Professional (office based) or a graduate seeking a graduate in the logistics industry.
• Ideally 1+ years transport experience
• Experience in waste, recycling distribution would be advantageous.
• Experience in managing drivers & planning routes
• Strong internal and external customer service skills
