Job Description

Job duties for the Property Underwriter include:

  As a New Business Underwriter, you'll be analysing and underwriting new business.
• 
  
  This means you'll be in a Market facing role, it is really important to us that you are great at communicating and have passion for doing the right thing for our customers.
  
• 
  
  You'll be working with your team and reporting into the Business Manager as well as interacting with brokers and intermediaries daily.
  
• 
  
  You will underwrite new business adhering to guidelines and help the team to execute and deliver our financial plan.
• 
  
  We need you to provide a standout service experience for customers and stakeholders and be responsible for delivering quality and timely solutions for them. This means taking ownership of own workload and supporting colleagues to deliver our collective workload -it's all about being a team player!

The Successful Applicant

As a Property Underwriter:

• You will have established Underwriter experience, for at least 2 years, and if not 1 year of underwriter experience and 1 year of claims handling experience.
• We will help you to extend your knowledge of the group risk market and products, as well as all the technical bits but you'll already be a strong communicator who is able to make decision.
• You will have strong interpersonal skills that can help us strengthening our relationship with brokers and clients.
• We'd like you to be happy to challenge processes and decisions using your attention to detail.
• You'll naturally adapt your style to different workloads and pressures and be able to think on your feet.
• Last but not least, organisation and the ability to prioritise is really key, our customer is always foremost on our minds!

What's on Offer

• Be Based in Bristol
• Received £30,000-£42,000 DOE
• 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
• 12% Non-Contributory pension scheme
