Position Overview & Specifications

Do you want to be part of a new service that offers intensive, personally tailored mental health support for children and young people?

We are looking for enthusiastic, caring individual with a passion for improving care for young people with mental health difficulties to join our exciting new CAMHS Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Service (CAHTS).

Following new investment, we are proud to be developing a needs led service based on the i-Thrive model. This will be a service, consistent with the nationally defined Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team clinical model. Accessibility, responsiveness and excellence in care, with the highest regard for service experience will be at the heart of the service.

This role will cover the localities of Melksham and BANES CAMHS, and the successful applicant can choose to have their main work base in either Melksham or Keynsham. We are an embedded team which offers the opportunity for the candidate to build strong working relationships with clinicians and management from their allocated bases whilst also learning and developing a wider knowledge of CAMHS provision across BSW. There will be flexible approach to working with some home working guaranteed. You would be part of an experienced and supportive multi-disciplinary (CAHTS) leadership team who work closely together, this is something staff within the service have reported as overwhelmingly positive. This role will involve coordinating rota’s, offering consultations on clinical cases to internal and external staff, clinical supervision and training.

There is a strong focus within the team of development of clinicians within CAHTs and delivering training so we can deliver high quality, flexible and intensive interventions to support young people, families and our wider CAMHS colleagues. There is also an element of clinical work within the role in supporting cases with higher complexity/ risk management profiles.
We welcome applications from a diverse range of clinicians with experience of working in CAMHS and an interest in leadership.

The successful candidates will be offered a variety of training including Positive Behaviour Support, AMBIT, DBT coping skills, and Family Based Therapy for Eating Disorders. There will also be the opportunity for further training based around individual learning needs.

We welcome applications from staff with varying levels of experience and will support suitable aspiring, current band 6 SMHP’s, with a band 6 into band 7 developmental package lasting up to 18 months with clearly defined competency markers for progressing into the band 7.   • New starters have a 6 month probationary period. This, together with the induction process aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale.
