The Club
The Oxford and Cambridge Club is an exclusive private members Club with a Grade II*-listed Clubhouse in central London. The Club has 46 bedrooms, a fine dining restaurant, 3 banqueting suites, 2 bars, 2 squash courts, a billiard room and extensive libraries. The Club has nearly 5000 members.
The Role
We are recruiting for a Banqueting Waiter to join the Banqueting team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role. We are looking for someone who is highly personable, passionate about delivering five star service in a busy working environment. The role is a full time position working 40 hours per week, any 5 days out of 7 including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
The Person
- Able to work shifts including (weekdays, weekends, mornings and evenings)
- Previous experience in conference and Banqueting is an advantage
- Be punctual, polite, courteous and helpful to Members and colleagues at all times.
- Reliable, professional and good team player.
- Able to work unsupervised.
- Good communications skills with good spoken and written English.
Main Duties
- Proactive in dealing with members requests
- Able to help set up function rooms
- Running small banqueting functions and liaising closely on the day with the members.
- Moving tables and chairs
- Polishing crockery, cutlery and glasses
- Checking that all equipment is in full working order before the member’s arrival
- Ensure service standards are being adhered to at all times.
- Setting up buffet tables
- Undertake Club and legal standards for cleanliness and maintain within the department.
- Be aware of responsibility for the security of the members and Club property.
