Position Overview & Specifications

Omega PLC is a British manufacturer of high quality fitted kitchens, supplying through a network of Retail and Contracts House-build partners across the UK. Omega PLC is committed to developing its brand through ongoing product innovation and by always delivering the highest levels of service and quality.

This role is a member of a team within a section of Manufacturing responsible for the production of quality kitchen product to specification and high standards of quality/workmanship in a fast paced multi-product environment.

It plays an active role in ensuring that the daily manufacturing plans are completed right first time, on time and in full, whilst ensuring they work at all times to the highest levels of safety, quality and efficiency. The successful candidate will be responsible for the booking & picking of painted materials in accordance with a planned schedule whilst constantly checking the quality of the product being produced.

Whilst General Operatives may initially be allocated to a particular department, they are expected to be able to move tasks or to move to other departments as necessary and so may be expected to carry out the full range of duties listed to meet the needs of the business. This may involve a change in shift pattern.

Duties include but are not restricted to:

  • Booking and picking stock of finished products for customer orders.
  • Ensure finished pieces meet the required quality standards.
  • Work at an acceptable rate and conform to works rules.
  • Conform to all safety standards at all times and cooperate with management on safety matters. Following all manual handling guidelines to ensure personal safety and the safety of the entire workforce.
  • Operate to satisfactory levels of workmanship, accuracy and attention to detail at all times.
  • Generate, agree and implement new initiatives that result in continuous improvements.
  • Attend and actively participate in relevant training activities deemed necessary.
  • Help to train colleagues.
  • General, labouring and cleaning/housekeeping (applicable to all areas).
  • 5S duties

Applicants must be willing to work as part of a team or alone, be able to follow instructions and possess the ability to work with accuracy and to deadlines to ensure quality standards are met. The post holder will be numerate, with good communication skills (able to raise and discuss issues with colleagues and management) and be able to undertake a variety of manual handling tasks involving a range of product sizes. Applicants will be used to working in a fast-paced environment and previous experience in a similar role within the kitchen industry is advantageous. Additionally, applicants should have knowledge of Health & Safety, Fire Awareness and Environment issues associated with working with flammable materials.

Working Hours: Various Shift Patterns

Monday to Friday: 06:00 – 14:00, 14:00 – 22:00, 08:00 – 16:00

Salary: £12.00 p/hr

Annual Leave: 32 Days incl. Bank Holidays & Christmas Shutdown
