Job Duties

• Attends mandatory pre-shift briefing before service
• Meets and greets guests and sets an exemplary example of guest service
• Arrives to work on time for the shift
• Ensures that table appearance is set to standards and according to expectations
• Maintains at all times outstanding knowledge of all food and beverage menu items
• Maintains high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform while working
• Presents menus to customers and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request
• Informs customers of daily specials.
• Explains how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods
• Ensures orders are delivered on time
• Ensures food is explained to the guest on delivery
• Serves food and/or beverages to guests; prepares and serves speciality dishes at tables if required
• Assures needs of guests are continually being met in a courteous and professional manner throughout the duration of their visit
• Checks with the guests to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to report any problems
• Checks guests personal identification in order to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
• Maintains a friendly and warm demeanour at all times
• Must be able to advise guests with any allergies restriction
• Prepares checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes; presents accepts payment and provides change or credit card receipt
• Follows appropriate accounting procedures for closing checks
• Keeps waiter stations clean, sets up and takes down station appropriately (he/she follows the opening and closing duties/closing checklists)
• Removes dishes and glasses from tables or counters, and takes them to the kitchen for cleaning
• Performs side work such as the following: stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens
• Attends mandatory food and beverage classes

Salary: £10.00-£14.00 per hour
