The Trust's Portering teams support the provision of a timely and reliable service to all wards, departments and specialist areas throughout the Trust's two main acute Hospital sites, the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven and the Cumberland Infirmary at Carlisle.
Porters are involved with a wide range of ancillary duties and responsibilities which centre on the movement of patients, waste, medical gases, pathological items and all other specialist goods or equipment required to aid clinical services in the delivery of safe and responsive patient care.
