Position Overview & Specifications

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Practitioner with a keen interest in working within our Crisis Response and Home Treatment Team.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team providing care, treatment and assessment to service users presenting in crisis.

You will be required to work shifts in the numbers alongside our Clinical Support Workers and Registered Nurses with the crisis team at times when the suite isn't in use , You will work a combination of long days / Night shifts including unsociable hours i.e. some weekends and bank holidays.

It is a fast-paced working environment and no day looks the same.

In this role there is scope to develop your knowledge, skills and ability in all areas of clinical care including care/discharge planning, risk assessment, admission prevention, environmental health & safety, Mental Health Act work & physical health care.

Comprehensive training and supervision is offered.

Ideally, you will have experience of working within mental health services. You will be an excellent communicator, self-motivated and committed to delivering a high standard of care.

Please note we also welcome applications from individuals with a sector-related BSc (e.g. psychology), however this must be supported with relevant work experience in mental health care.

**Central CRHT is an early-adopter site for the NSFT Personality Disorder Pathway and specific training in this area will be offered to all existing and new staff. Further details available on request**

We have a strong focus on providing assessment and treatment to enable service users to continue their recovery in the community with intensive support in the community. The CRHT is the ‘front-door’ to acute services, they provide triage, assessment, intensive support and admission avoidance hand in hand with support of families and 3rd party providers. The staffing teams also works with service users already in hospital to ensure that they can be supported at home at the earliest opportunity to support their recovery.

A full induction will be provided to the successful applicant. You will also be allocated to a Buddy to support your induction period.

We have a keen focus on exploring development opportunities available to you. The successful applicant will be considered to enrol in the Medication Competency / Administration Course facilitated by The University of Suffolk. There will also be opportunities to develop in areas.
