Car driver with valid UK driving licence essential for this post.
NHS Lanarkshire are looking for a Band 2 phlebotomist to join the team at Hunter Health Centre. Full and Part Time Available, for part time the salary will be pro-rata.
Shift Pattern - 7 days dayshift/backshift
The post holder will be required to collect blood samples by venepuncture or capillary route from Locality patients within the Health Centre, GP Practices and Hospital.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB:
- A certificate in venepuncture is essential.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology is required.
- Previous experience preferred.
- Require intensive one-to-one supervised training for an initial period of three months and regular updating of skills thereafter.
- High awareness of Infection Control policies and procedures.
- Manual dexterity essential.
- Maintenance of CPR training.
