Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
A rare and exciting opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team as an Occupational Therapist - Advanced Practice Practitioner covering all areas of Lanarkshire.
The team have both a clinical and strategic role, as well as supporting improvement work within the community.
As one of the first dedicated falls services in Scotland, this pioneering team have been instrumental in shaping National Falls Strategy. More recently they have been heavily involved in the development and implementation of the Lanarkshire Falls Strategy.
JOB PURPOSE
- Take the lead role in the delivery and development of specialist Occupational Therapy services for an NHSL wide clinical area.
- As part of a multi-disciplinary team, work as an autonomous practitioner using specialist skills and knowledge.
- Undertake advanced assessment, diagnostics and treatment to ensure a high standard of clinical intervention.
- Be responsible for practice education and assessment of Occupational Therapy students.
- Lead clinical audit and undertake research applicable to the specialist area of work.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB
- Registered Occupational Therapist with valid HCPC Registration
- Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level
- Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality.
- Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality.

Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in speciality and applying clinical judgement.
