Are you innovative, enthusiastic, motivated and committed to providing high quality care and treatment? If so, we have an opportunity to join our small but supportive team at Hawick community Hospital. We have 23 inpatient beds, a minor injuries unit and day hospital.
The Healthcare Support Worker plays a significant role in patient’s recovery. We provide person centred rehabilitation and re-enablement for patients from our local community and this will be a challenging and exciting opportunity to enable the individual to develop new and enhance existing skills. The successful candidates will need to be passionate about dementia care and demonstrate their enthusiasm and motivation to make a real difference working within our trust values. They must be able to work as part of a team but also under their own initiative.
Cared for by a multidisciplinary team led by Practitioners, Nursing and Therapeutic staff, individuals are supported to achieve their goals. This may follow a period of a hospital admission or a period of being unwell at home in which the unit may be a more suitable environment to provide this individualised care. We also provide nursing support to patients who have reached their end of life. The emphasis is to reduce length of stay whilst ensuring excellent care which is safe, effective, personalised and compassionate and to the standards you would expect for your family and friends.
Shifts include long days and nights including weekends and bank holidays.
