Position Overview & Specifications
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced dietitian to join our Dietetic Health Improvement Team to build on prevention and early intervention programmes which addresses Child Healthy Weight. This is an exciting opportunity for a dietitian who has an interest in health improvement to join our experienced team.
You will work in collaboration with the team and partner services to develop and deliver a Tier 2 service for families with children aged 2- 4yrs experiencing weight and growth related issues. The service is delivered to individual families within homely settings as well as digitally to meet family needs.
You will also be responsible for designing, delivery and evaluation of training, education and resources to support child healthy weight. The team has developed a variety of resources on social media and digital platforms.
You will join a busy team of dietitians, assistant practitioners and a support worker. You will be expected to support and supervise assistant practitioners. The team is based at North West Kilmarnock Area Centre but travel across Ayrshire and Arran will be required.
You should possess a degree/postgraduate diploma in Human Nutrition and Dietetics and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
Evidence of CPD is essential as is evidence of competencies and skills required to deliver this post e.g. excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You should be able to work under your own initiative within the team structure.
The Department provides preregistration training to students and offers practice supervision.
This is a fixed-term/secondment opportunity until 31st March 2026.
Full driving license and car owner is essential.
Hours: 18.75 per week.
