Position Overview & Specifications

NHS Lanarkshire - University Hospital Wishaw

Consultant Physician with a Special Interest in Diabetes and Endocrinology

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated colleague to join the Diabetes and Endocrinology department in University Hospital Wishaw.

The successful candidate will join a well-established and dedicated group of consultants who provide a number of sub-specialty services including antenatal diabetes, diabetes foot, insulin pump/technology, young adult and diabetes transition clinics as well as general diabetes and endocrinology clinics. We work alongside an experienced and dedicated team of diabetes specialist nurses, advanced nurse practitioners, dietitians, podiatrists and have endocrine nurse specialists. The successful candidate would be encouraged to develop a specialty interest to complement existing services as well as contributing to the care of general medical in-patients and the medical on call rota.

The job is offered as a full-time post on a 10 PA basis (including up to 2 non-DCC) but applications will be considered from those wishing to work less than full-time. If full-time, up to 2 EPA’s may be available to undertake additional clinical activity.
