The vision for the Pharmacy & Medicines service is to deliver clinically led, person-centred services to ensure patients across Lothian get the best from their medicines and pharmacy services. We are focussed on creating an environment where each person in the team has the opportunity to flourish, develop and make best use of their skills.

This role involves working within the aseptic suite to complete preparation processes required for aseptic dispensing as well as duties to maintain and monitor the cleanroom environment. You will closely as part of a team who are committed to making a difference to patient care by ensuring safe and efficient provision of specialist sterile medicines. This includes chemotherapy, intravenous injections and nutritional infusions to adult, paediatric and neonatal patients.. Pharmacy Support Workers are key members of our team and essential to delivery of this service. Other duties will include medicine ordering, receipt, delivery and stock control as well as administration and general housekeeping duties.

We are looking for applicants with a minimum National 4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics. You will also be supported to complete an SVQ unit while you work as part of your development.

Previous experience within pharmacy services or stock management is beneficial but not essential as training will be provided. Basic keyboard skills are essential.

Weekday hours Monday to Friday (4.5hrs/day) with participation in weekend and public holiday rota.
