General Farm Worker

We have a vacancy for a general pig stockperson working on a finishing pig farm near Crediton.

Day to day, you will be responsible for:

• General day to day livestock husbandry tasks and farm duties
• Feeding of pigs
• Cleaning out/bedding up/pressure washing
• Moving, weighing and selection of pigs for slaughter
• Administering of medication/vaccinations
• Maintaining accurate records to ensure continued compliance

Essential

• Honest, trustworthy and hard working with the ability to work alone as well as alongside a small team
• Flexible and adaptable
• Due to the remote location, you will require your own transport to get to work

Desirable

• Minimum of 1 years previous experience working with farm livestock is desirable, although not essential as ongoing training will be provided
• Experience with machinery and modern computer systems would be an advantage but training can be given

Salary negotiable, depending on experience.

We can be fairly flexible with the hours during Monday – Friday but you will be required to work every other weekend on a rota basis.
