Front of House Team Member

‘Neepsend Social Club & Canteen’ is a brand new bar/restaurant/gaming venue located smack bang in the heart of Neepsend. We are looking for lovely people to come and help us turn our bold vision for the place into a reality.

Far from a large-scale operation (we are currently a team of just seven!) the project has been a long time in the making. As ‘The Gravy Poutine’, we have spent the last six years slinging food at all sorts of weird and wonderful street-food gigs and festivals up and down the country. Whilst we had a blast doing all that it has always been our ambition to have a place of our own.

After a bit of post-pandemic reflection we realised that we wanted it to be more than a bar/restaurant; we wanted it to be a positive influence in the community and a place to bring people together. We don’t have a tagline but if we did it might be ‘celebrating great food, booze and companionship’. We want to laud our friendships, keep things SOCIAL and look out for our wider community.

The vibe we are going for is inspired by Britain’s great heritage of social clubs and working men’s clubs. What makes those special are the people inside and the sense of camaraderie and belonging - things we could all do with a little more of as we blow off the covid cobwebs.

Inside the club, The Gravy Train is our branded kitchen but as well as dynamite fried-stuff we will also have great booze, darts and table football. We’re also looking to set up sports teams, tournaments, events, charitable stuff, you name it - so we need good people to help us make it happen!

Whilst it would be great to have some experience, more than anything we are looking for the right personalities to slot into the FOH team. We need personable, passionate and confident bar and waiting staff with a positive outlook who want to help us build this thing from the ground up. We want to cultivate a fun, creative and collaborative environment for customers and staff alike so if that sounds like a bit of you then why not get in touch?

Job Description - Responsibilities:

• Taking orders, preparing drinks and waiting on tables
• Maintaining a clean environment
• Dealing with customer queries
• Ensuring a fun & friendly environment for both the team and customers
• Upholding the consistency of our product and standards

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Salary: £7.50-£10.00 per hour
