Murray McIntosh are delighted to be working with a long-established not for profit which specialises in bringing together experts and policy makers with the aim of ensuring a sustainable and inclusive society.
They are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Policy Officer to join their team and work on matters which bring together technology and science.
As the Policy Officer, you will report to the Senior Policy Advisor and support the delivery of a thematic programme focusing on a variety of policies including but not limited to technology, science and national calamities. This role will be well suited to someone with a keen interest in public health, technology, science and societal challenges.
In this role, key responsibilities will include:
- Sourcing, collating and analysing evidence to produce high quality and timely written pieces
- Working with the wider function to design and deliver new, exciting ways to engage policymakers with the organisation's work
- To build and maintain effective relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Raising awareness of the industry through engagements with central and local government
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A passion for public policy, ideally gained through academics or work experience
- A passion for public health, science or/and technology, and the part it plays in society
- Excellent written/ verbal communication skills
- Experience in communicating with impact to diverse audiences
- Experience in collaboration and partnership working
- Strong research and analytical skills
