What is the overall job?

The electrical tester role is based at Peterborough City Hospital and will entail fixed wire testing, related remedial events, system updates, electrical small works and variations. Key responsibilities include:

• Electrical fixed wire testing and maintenance up to 230v
• Correctly completing the relevant certifications (EICRs), following agreed procedures and accurately recording data and information
• Accurately interpreting technical data & drawings and instructions
• Completion of remedial works following testing and inspection
• There may be electrical installation work required from time to time.

What do I need to be successful in this role?

This role is suitable for a fully qualified electrician with extensive knowledge of testing electrical installations. The suitable candidate will have:

• Ability to competently complete EICRs
• Good working knowledge of Health & Safety Practices
• Experience in a healthcare setting is preferable, but not essential

• Experience of working in a customer focused environment with agreed performance targets

• City and Guilds 236 Pt 1 & 2 (or NVQ Level 3)
• City and Guilds 2391/52 is essential
• 17th Edition Wiring Regulations BS7671 or 18th Edition.
