Warehouse Operator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 3 mid shift Warehouse Operators to join our wonderful team at Mr Fothergill’s Seeds.

Opportunities

These opportunities are full time and based at our Kentford site. Our Warehouse Operators will work within the business-to-business despatch warehouse, from which we fulfil customer orders for finished goods.

The Warehouse Operators will be working across the Picking, Despatch or Stock Control functions of our warehouse in order to meet the business needs.

What You’ll Be Doing

At All Times

Ensuring the warehouse is a safe, clean and tidy work environment, that equipment and tools are safe and in order and you and your colleagues are working safely.

Taking part in stock-checks and full inventory counts to ensure stock accuracy, using paper instructions and/or handheld computer devices.

Sharing knowledge, skills and training with your colleagues, especially with new starters.

Picking

Picking & packing customer orders from paper pick-slip instructions and/or using handheld computer devices.

Working with the other pickers to collaborate on picking orders where necessary.

Adapting to changes in methodology throughout the season (Wave, Zone, Single Order).

Remembering the order requirements by customer or order type.

Despatch

Preparing orders for collection by courier or haulier.

Sealing boxes and stacking onto pallets.

Attaching necessary paperwork and labels for each order.

Use of pallet wrapper machine and semi-automatic strapping machine.

Follow processes and procedures regarding quality control, customer-specific requirements, etc. as directed by the Warehouse Team Leader (Despatch).

Stock Control

Physically (including using pallet truck, including at height) and in the system using handheld computer devices:

Moving of stock from receipt to storage locations (put-away).

Moving of stock from storage locations to pick-face locations (replenishment).

Preparing/building cartons for use by the picking team.

Regularly checking stock of consumables.

Other tasks and duties may be assigned by the Warehouse Team Leaders or Warehouse Supervisors according to daily business requirements.

You may be requested to work overtime hours during busy periods.
