Motor Parts Direct (MPD) was recently acquired by Motus Limited, a company listed on the Johannesburg Stock exchange. Established in 1999, MPD is one of the UK’s largest and fastest growing independent motor factors currently operating 174 branches supported by 16 distribution centres, 1 700 employees and a fleet of c900 vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Process and match invoices with GRN
• Process EDI batches on a daily basis, and where issues arise report and resolve.
• Match credit notes, to either invoice in query or return notes issued.
• All unmatched invoices and Credits to be logged and resolved by communicating with Suppliers/Regional Managers/Branch Managers.
• Communicate regularly with suppliers on all queries.
• Respond to incoming e-mails.
• Maintain and post Barclaycard/Lloyds statements on a monthly basis.
• Process DD's to accounts when appear on bank statement via cash batch.
• Reconcile supplier statements, requesting copies of identified missing invoices / credits.
• Process agreed contracts between sales and purchase ledgers.
• Check Petty Cash vouchers and process.
• Check overheads invoices and ensure charged correctly by supplier.
• Maintain Spreadsheets, Filing and any other duties that is required.

Skills / Experience Required

• Knowledge of low-level accountancy and basic skills in bookkeeping are preferable, prior to beginning the job.
• A qualification relevant to accountancy would be ideal, though in-house training is available.
• A passion for numbers, accuracy, and skills in calculating figures is vital, as is adeptness at paying attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £22,000.00-£24,000.00 per year
