Kitchen Porter (KP) Pot Wash & Basic Food Prep - 30hr Busy Bistro Newcastle

Missy Milieu’s is a newly opened all-day relaxed Bar & Bistro in Newcastle city centre, located directly between the historic Cathedral and Castle.

We are 5 months in and growing rapidly week on week, gaining incredibly positive feedback, a strong social media presence, and a strong physical following.
We have also acheived top 10 status on Tripadvisor and a 4.9 star score of Google!

We are seeking a hard working and efficient Kitchen Porter (KP) to wash dishes by hand and with a commercial pass-through dishwasher. There will also be basic food preparation like peeling vegetables, alongside a regular and deep clean of the kitchen area. There's an existing small and friendly kitchen team who work hard preparing quality fresh food dishes, and are willing to slowly train on other elements in the kitchen.

Currently 30 hours per week available over 3-4 days with room to increase as the business builds.

• Freedom to create daily specials and seasonal menu variations.
• A relaxed food led operation, with a late licence permitting a mainly seated drinks only focus later in the evening.
• The venue will also be available for special events, baby showers, birthdays, milestone birthdays etc.
• Service charge actively encouraged and split fairly between the whole team via Tronc and paid alongside payroll.
• Hourly paid or salary available to suit the applicants individual preferences and long term goals.

The Focus

• Serving food from late breakfast through till dinner located at Amen Corner, Newcastle upon Tyne.
• The food menu consists of culinary creations, homemade delicacies, and twists on British classics.
• Aimed at those customers who are looking for quality food and drink whilst being surrounded by a chic and unique decor.

The Ideal Candidate will have the following

• At least 3 months recent experience in a busy venue working as a KP.
• High standards in hygiene, and cleanliness.
• Live close to Newcastle city centre, or have regular use of a car.
• A strong work ethic.
• Ability to work in a fast paced and fun environment.

The Package

- Hourly pay - £9.80 per hour.

- Annual salary review - This will always be above inflation and based on performance.

- Tips - A minimum 10% service charge will be encouraged and will be shared equally amongst the team based on hours worked.

- Hours - The average working week is to be agreed.

- Days off - At least 3 full days off per week on average.

- Holidays - A total of 6 weeks paid holiday per year broken down into 4 full-weeks and 4 half-weeks, with weekends off actively encouraged during quieter periods.

- Salary paid on the 28th of every month by bank transfer, or fortnightly if preferred.
