Position Overview & Specifications
The role will require the quantity surveyor to manage the commercial resources of the various projects to maximise cashflow and margin. The candidate will also be expected to support the project team with commercial and contractual expertise. Assess, review and mitigate risk while implementing Milestone policies.
Directly Supervises (Number and Titles)
- Assistant / Trainee Quantity Surveyor – 1
- Sub-contractors - Multiple
Key Tasks:
- Leading the commercial management of multiple site to maximise cashflow and margins
- Pricing and management of variation accounts both upstream and downstream
- Resolving commercial issues
- Client Liaison
- Liaison and co-ordination with site delivery team to collage information on day to day remits.
- Providing site delivery team with commercial and contractual expertise
- Subcontractor management
- Change management and early warnings
- Contract administration (JCT and NEC)
- Cost Valuation Reconciliations and Cashflow forecast management / preparation
Skills / Attributes:
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management
- Holder of a Full UK Driving Licence (No more that 6 points)
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Quantity Surveying (minimum)
- Proven track record in successfully managing a project
- Proficient IT Skills with a range of Microsoft office packages is essential
- Understanding and usage of Microsoft Projects / Astra Projects
- Ability to co-ordinate and liaise direct labour / labour gangs
- Ability to be communicate professionally with clients and stakeholders
- Self-motivated and ambitious
- Able to work as part of a team and independently including setting and managing own tasks.
Qualifications and Specialist Training:
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management
- Proficient understanding of various contracts (JCT and NEC)
Relevant Job Experience:
- Experience of working on social housing refurbishment projects
- Experience of working on measured term contracts
- Material procurement
- Sub-contractor procurement and management
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £65,000.00-£75,000.00 per year
