Position Overview & Specifications

Solution Architect

Our client is looking for a highly motivated, passionate and innovative technologist to join their team as a Solution Architect within their Telecoms practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end to end architecture and technical delivery of Big Data and analytics solutions delivered to mobile and fixed line telecoms clients, delivered using their best-in-class products

About You

You will need to be a self starter, committed to delivering high quality solutions to their demanding customers, dealing with a range of technical and commercial stakeholders and a technology obsessive - keeping abreast of and evaluating relevant new technologies. It goes without saying that great interpersonal, written and oral communication skills are a must. The A willingness to take ownership of solutions, issues and see them through to conclusion is required.

The successful candidate will possess the following skills:

Essential

  • Batchelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related/equivalent
  • At least 10 years’ experience in a technical solution/architect role with exposure to telco and analytics, in both vendor/operator environments
  • Solid knowledge and experience of ETL, Data Integration and Data Warehousing concepts
  • Demonstrable experience of leading and delivering large complex projects covering a range of technologies, domains and functions
  • Experience of developing and maintaining architectural and design documentation (HLD, LLD, etc)
  • Extensive experience of requirements analysis and development of these into technical solutions
  • Knowledge of telecoms signalling protocols covering mobile RAN, Packet/Voice Core
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Linux experience
  • A creative and analytical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work in a pressurised, fast passed and agile environment

Highly desirable

  • Knowledge of Telecoms Networks networks
  • Solid knowledge of database systems and query tools
  • KPI design and implementation
  • Understanding of data science, machine learning and AI concepts
  • Experience of delivering projects in on-Premise and Cloud environments
  • Knowledge of containerisation technologies (eg Kubernetes, Docker)
  • Knowledge of some or all of the following technologies – Hadoop, Kafka, MapReduce, Hive, Redis, MongoDB, Elastic
  • Knowledge of RDBMS and NoSQL architectures and platforms
  • Experience of data visualisation tools (eg Kibana, Tableau)
  • TCP/P and networking knowledge
  • Development experience (eg Python, Spark, Java, R, SQL etc)
