Position Overview & Specifications

We're looking for dedicated Finance Analysts to turbocharge finance at M&S and have a variety of roles available across the different M&S businesses.

You'll work as part of a close team, partnering with specific M&S areas to support business objectives through accurate reporting and robust business processes.

Key accountabilities
  • Contributing business value through forecasting, in line with 3YP process.
  • Being a brilliant business partner - challenging, independent, encouraging, collaborative and connecting the dots.
  • Build value through ad hoc insightful, independent and impactful analysis, including deep dives into trade performance, scenario modelling on new initiatives, product areas or promotions.
  • Champion continuous improvement by utilising available analytical tools, collaborating with Data and Finance centre of excellence teams to help develop outstanding tools to support the business area and partners.
  • Protect value through strong controllership and understanding of risks and opportunities, collaborating with wider team to ensure strong financial controls are in place.
  • Support a high performing team by continuously seeking to grow professionally and develop efficient ways of working, identifying and progressing areas for personal development.
Key skills
  • Brilliant story-telling - ability to communicate the impact to management, business partners and other finance teams.
  • Quick learner, hardworking and solution orientated.
  • Analytical – able to find fresh insights .
  • Curious and highly motivated, with an interest in retail.
  • Collaborative but independent mindset.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Finance systems knowledge.
  • Maintenance of meticulous financial controls.
  • Qualified Accountant – CIMA/ACCA/ACA.
