About the role:
We have an important role within our HR Services department where you’ll be providing a professional and specialist advisory and support service to senior managers and other clients on a full range of human resources matters to support business objectives.
You’ll be providing advice that is consistent with Council and external partners Policy and Procedures, employment law, best practice, and which meets statutory requirements and agreed service standards.
In this exciting role, you’ll be responsible for providing specialist HR advice and support working across the whole HR Division as necessary in order to meet service demands and priorities, project delivery, policy development and training on HR procedures as required.
About you:
We are looking for someone with in-depth experience within a personnel/HR environment providing an advisory and support role.
You’ll be a strong communicator, both verbally and in written correspondence as you’ll be consulting with and influencing a wide range of people at all levels both inside and outside of the Council. This will include working with trade unions and staff at all levels.
You’ll be a problem solver with the ability to resolve problems creatively through analysis and interpretation of employee-related matters and data and application of Human Resource policy.
You’ll have the ability to work independently and operate computerised HR systems including data input and data manipulation, word processor and spreadsheet applications.
This is an important role where you’ll have the opportunity to develop your existing knowledge of employment law case law equal opportunities, employment contracts and best practice within HR.
We do ask that you are a professionally qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development or equivalent qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience.
Applicants for this public-facing post will need to demonstrate the ability to converse, and provide effective help or advice, fluently in spoken English.
