Philanthropy and Global Engagement

Foundation Partnerships Manager 2X

Salary from £48,196 to £55,718 pa inclusive, with potential to progress to £62,053 pa inclusive of London Allowance

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with experience in fundraising successfully from trusts and foundations to join our 80-strong Philanthropy and Global Engagement division as it engages with individuals and organisations around the world in support of LSE’s strategic priorities.

For more than 125 years, LSE’s pioneering research has improved lives, reduced poverty, and expanded the frontiers of human knowledge. The School counts 18 Nobel prize winners among its alumni and staff; 39 international leaders, past and present, across 27 countries; and 15 young entrepreneurs in Forbes ‘30 under 30’. Already ranked the top-rated university for social sciences in Europe, our ambitious LSE 2030 strategy aims to position the School as being the leading social science institution with the greatest global impact.

To deliver on this, LSE recently launched a major public philanthropic campaign – Shaping the World – aiming to raise at least £350 million from our global community of supporters. We are well on our way to achieving this, approaching the £250m milestone. There couldn’t be a better moment to join us!

The successful candidate will work as a senior member of the Foundation Partnerships team in initiating, developing and deepening relationships with trusts and foundations, focusing on six- and seven-figure opportunities.

What we ask of you

  • A successful track record in securing philanthropic income from trusts and foundations through compelling written proposals

  • An aptitude for complexity, equally able to work with academics in specialised areas as well as to navigate working in a large organisation with multiple internal and external stakeholders

What you can expect from us

  • The opportunity to work within a highly professional and supportive division at a university in the heart of London with an exceptional global brand as it embarks on its largest ever fundraising campaign

  • We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave, hybrid working, flexible hours, and excellent training and development opportunities.

We aspire to have a diverse and inclusive workplace and strongly encourage suitably qualified applicants from a wide range of backgrounds to apply and join LSE.
