Lister House Surgery is a friendly and purpose-built practice of 13,000 patients in Hatfield, Hertfordshire. We use TPP System one for our clinical system.

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, motivated and hard-working Reception Supervisor to join our practice to provide an efficient and friendly service for all our patients and visitors, and to provide effective administrative support to our doctors, Practice Manager and members of the clinical team. You will work alongside the reception manager and support her with the day to day running of the practice.

The role would be part-time, 35 hours per week, salary depending on experience.

Previous reception experience in a GP/healthcare setting is desirable.

Job Responsibilities

Key resposibilities include;

• Act as line manager to the reception team and ensure policies and procedures are adhered to
• Ensure reception staff are trained and competent in their role
• Ensure effective running and performing of all reception duties
• Providing clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice management team as required
• Undertaking a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice.
• Ensure telephones are answered by reception staff promptly and professionally
• Ensure optimum staffing levels at all times with sickness absences managed accordingly.
• Able to perform reception duties
• Perform all other tasks as required

About the practice

We are a forward-thinking GMS practice with a list size of 13,000 patients, situated in modern purpose-built premises. We are CQC registered as good. The practice teams consist of GP partners, salaried GPs, registrars, nurses, reception, admin and PCN staff (physiotherapists, pharmacists, care coordinators and care home coordinators) who all have positive working relationships with one another.

We use TPP system one for our clinical system, however knowledge of this is desirable not essential.

You will be joining the reception team which is made up of 15 receptionists, including the reception manager. The reception team is a highly valued part of our work force whose work and input help create positive outcomes for our patients.

We became a training practice in 2020 and actively encourage the learning and development of our team.

The practice team often like to do activities outside of work and most recently walked the 02 to celebrate a team members birthday!
