Position Overview & Specifications

Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity for a heritage consultant from a graduate up to 18 months experience. You will work on all aspects of the historic environment including world heritage sites, listed buildings, scheduled ancient monuments, conservation areas and historic landscapes. You will prepare statements of significance, assess the effects of developments on the historic environment and liaise with clients, co-consultants and local planning authorities to assist in delivering positive change.

Our heritage team has a fantastic track record of high profile projects, such the National Portrait Gallery, BBC Broadcasting House, Southbank Centre, Warwick Castle, Manchester Town Hall and Blackpool Tower; and you can expect to work on similar types of projects. We also prepare townscape and visual assessments and desk based archaeology assessments and you would be expected to work in these areas. Responsibilities:
We will help you to develop your career by working on a wide range of projects and supported by our learning and development programme. We will assist you in achieving membership of the IHBC (and the RTIPI if suitable). Mentoring and networking opportunities are provided to help build supportive relationships. You may currently be in another consultancy role, working in local government or elsewhere or may be about to graduate from a masters. If you have good heritage and townscape expertise and a desire to succeed we can help you realise your full potential.

Qualifications:
We will expect candidates to have at least a 2:1 or equivalent at a relevant first degree and may have a relevant masters. Relevant qualifications would be Conservation, Archaeology, History, History of Art and Architecture and Town Planning. Relevant work experience will also be necessary. Full information on A level, GCSE and other qualifications should also be provided. Candidates should demonstrate good analytical, presentation and writing skills, together with a clear commitment to working in the historic environment field.
