Position Overview & Specifications

An exciting opportunity to join the At Risk Mental State (ARMS) Service, part of LPT's service wide Psychological Psychosis Pathway. ARMS is a key part of early intervention recommendations to help identify and support individuals aged 14-35 having unusual experiences for the first time or who might be at risk of developing psychosis. In Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland we have listened to how we can best meet the needs of diverse communities and are building responsive services based in local neighbourhoods. The ARMS service will work flexibly to engage with young people and their families to provide assessment, psychological, family and social inclusion interventions for up to two years in line with NICE guidance. The service will be countywide and will work closely with existing secondary care as well as building new relationships with neighbourhood partners in primary care, education and the third sector. As an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, you would be working closely with the ARMS Lead to provide the Nursing and Medical lead as part of an innovative service providing evidence-based psychosocial interventions to improve psychological well-being and the achievement of recovery goals. The ARMS service takes a psychologically and trauma informed team approach and aims to promote empowerment, reduce stigma and increase social inclusion and minimise the impact of first experiences of psychosis on individuals and families.
