Warehouse Assistant

Required for a busy internet retailer with a processing warehouse in TW4, approximately 15 minutes walk from Hounslow West tube station. We are mostly receiving and packaging printed books and music, along with some household goods, with origins & destinations around the world. We have a further storage warehouse (10k sq ft) in TW14 where we book-in and stow/shelve incoming stock. We are a small efficient business, operating for over 20 years, with only a few employees. (A Saturday shift is also run with separate staffing). The managing director does the office administration work and some warehouse tasks.

The work will involve processing of incoming deliveries using scanners, packing orders, generating dispatch labelling using our systems, and general warehouse duties. Our two adjacent processing warehouse units are compact (5k sq ft) however we benefit from significant external yard space and ample car parking.

The working environment is usually busy, with a standard day of 9.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, but applicants need to be able to do paid overtime up to at least 10 hour day if/when necessary (i.e. 8am to 6pm). Annual basic salary £24,856 (equivalent to £11.95 per hour) with the job being a permanent, ongoing requirement.

Overtime - if/when busy (most likely at start of week) we start at 8am and finish about 6pm. All applicants must be flexible and able to do extra hours. If less busy at any time, then standard hours would apply.

As a Warehouse Operative, you will be:
