Art Technician

James Ray recruitment are looking to appoint an Art Technician to work within the Technology and Art department situated in an outstanding private school on the outskirts of York. You will be working on a 30-hour contract across 5 days for a minimum of two terms.

This truly is a fantastic opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, qualified technician to be part of an outstanding Technology and Art department. This post would be suitable for someone wishing to gain further experience in a very supportive environment. The main purpose of the role is to provide support to the Head of Art and Design and Technology, inside and outside the classroom. As a technician you will assist with the preparation of materials for lessons, as well as organising and maintaining the equipment and providing staff and students with efficient technical support.

What does the role involve?

· Lead role in planning and organisation of equipment for the specialist technical area

· Give technical advice to teachers, technicians, and pupils/students

· Offer professional guidance, assistance, and support to pupils & teachers on the practical aspects of the curriculum which may include assisting with demonstrations, to support the development of pupils.

· Support and promote the development of pupils

· Assist with demonstrations

· Assist with the completion of risk assessments for technician and classroom activities

· Communicate effectively with all pupils and colleagues
