Graham Eyes opened his first butcher's shop in 1982, at the age of 21. His first shop was on Rufford Road, Crossens, Southport. With over 30 years’ experience as a successful high class butchers, as well as caterers, we are proud to be able to offer our customers meat and produce of the highest standard. We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic individual to join our sales team as a Butcher.
Here’s What You Can Expect to be Doing
- Producing meat for sale including bone out carcasses with good cutting standards
- Effectively developing and managing staff
- Ensuring that all food safety and health and safety regulations are met within the butchery department
- Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment
- Weighing, packaging, pricing, and displaying products
- Keeping records, budgets, and inventory
- Performing quality inspections on meats and other products
- Greeting and speaking to customers, providing advice, answering questions, and accepting orders or payments
- Coordinating deliveries or order pickups
- Developing the sales and profit
- Controlling waste

- Product knowledge is essential
- Be helpful and friendly and feel comfortable working with the public
- To be enthusiastic, committed and self motivated

- To be able to work as part of a team
- Have a flexible approach to working hours
- To be able to work as part of a team but also to use their own initiative
- Basic food hygiene certificate
- Thorough knowledge of HACCPS
- A minimum of 3 – 4 years proven experience in a butchery environment
