Quoting and Process Engineer

The person:

• Understand and be experienced in the estimating process
• Be able to advise and support sales in the quoting process
• You will be an excellent multi-tasker and able to think on your feet
• You can demonstrate a good customer focus
• Have experience in a similar environment preferably with an engineering background
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost estimation methods
• Proficient in using computer-aided design (CAD) software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines

Activities:

• Take sales requests, prepare the estimate and build the quote around the information.
• Liaise with the Production Engineering team for technical support to assist in the quotation.
• Liaise with external suppliers to understand their requirements.
• Liaise with material suppliers and tooling vendors.
• Work with the shopfloor staff to make sure the job can be done.
• Build effective procedures in the quote and estimating process.
• Prepare detailed quotations, including material costs, labor hours, and production timelines
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization while maintaining quality standards
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses for new product development projects
• Support cross-functional teams in implementing process improvements and lean manufacturing principles
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of cost estimates, pricing models, and historical data for reference and analysis
