Assistant Producer

Ideal World are seeking an Assistant Producer to join their busy live studios team.

ABOUT US

Ideal World are the award winning shopping TV channel devoted to lifestyle brands, home-wares and luxury shopping. Our channel is live for up to 19 hours each day broadcasting onto Freeview, Freesat, Sky and Virgin TV platforms, as well as being broadcast on our website.

Our fun and interactive live shows feature limited time deals, client partnerships and a broad variety of product strands and categories. The channel has been on air for over 20 years from our studios based in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Senior Assistant Producer and working as a member of the TV production team, the role requires you to support and work alongside the Production teams to forward plan and help prepare TV shows with primary focus on live output. Research and collect product information for Producers and Presenters to help them promote maximum versatility and potential of product. Demonstrate strong communication skills to be able to work closely and effectively with all production departments and buying teams. Compile and complete video cue sheets and ensure these are available in advance of shows. Having the ability to use your own initiative to prioritise tasks and react to the fast-paced environment of live TV production.

THE CANDIDATE

We are seeking someone has excellent organisational and communication skills, can work under pressure with a flexibility and willingness to adapt to a fast paced and ever-changing creative environment.

The successful applicant would preferably hold a degree level qualification, however, we are willing to consider all who have the relevant experience/skills required.

POSITION DETAILS

The TV teams work a 12.5 hour day on a rotating 7 days per fortnight shift pattern. This means one week you work 5 shifts, and the following week you work 2 shifts, working out to an average of 40 hours a week and 7 days with a fortnight. The shift does include working weekends, bank holidays, early mornings, late nights covering our ITV contract.

Salary will be offered dependant on experience.
