Position Overview & Specifications
Job Title: Room Attendant
Responsible for: High standard of room cleanliness in hotel bedrooms, replenishing of stocks and reporting of maintenance issues.
Job Specifications:
- Each hotel bedroom requires high standard of dusting, cobwebbing, hovering and cleaning.
- The IHG` Way of clean specified procedure on cleaning a guest bedroom and bathroom needs to be followed.
- Complete cleaning tasks for assigned rooms within prescribed time frames
- All beds need to be made to a very high standard of presentation and cleanliness. Change of linen is dependable on the length of the guests stay in the bedroom.
- All towels need to be removed and replaced with good quality towels; this also can depend on guest stay and hotel policy.
- Trolleys housing linens, supplies, chemical and cleaning equipment needs to kept clear and tidy at all times as in view of hotel guests.
- All Chemicals are required to be stored in the correct vessel and in the correct manner.
- Hotel bedrooms require cleaning after guest use, making beds, cleaning and emptying bins, ashtrays and waste. Bathrooms need to be cleaned, drinking glasses cleaned and replaced, bathroom amenities restocked. Mini bars checked and items recorded and re stocked. Replenish any beverage supplies, writing paper or pens. Clean surfaces, phones, picture. Lamps window sills. Inside furniture such as wardrobe’s and draws need to be checked for lost property and cleaned once a guest has departed.
- Carpets need to be hovered daily and bathroom floors wiped or mopped daily.
- Weekly and monthly spring cleans area also allocated, whereby everything is cleaned.
- Weekly shower curtains are removed and washed.
- Always use correct cleaning utensils to avoid cross contamination.
- Maintenance checks to be reported to the housekeeper or directly to the team.
- COSHH training needs to be attended in order to use the chemicals safely.
- Health and safety should be followed reducing the element of accidents
- Fire training will be given every 6 months which is compulsory.
Personal presentation standards are very important, personal hygiene and uniform presentation must be of a high standard.
Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 28 per week
Salary: £10.42 per hour
