Position Overview & Specifications
We are looking for a tenacious, flexible and enthusiastic individual to fill the above vacancy at Gunstones. This role will report directly to the Hygiene Manager.
Role purpose
- Works as part of a team to ensure daily plan attainment
- Interacts, buddy trains and supports all team colleagues
- Takes ownership of their role and area of work within the team
- With responsibility for their own and others health and safety and food safety
- Deputise for the key skills where trained to do so
To ensure that the site hygiene standards are maintained to high level, with the emphasis on keeping bacterial and cross contamination to a minimum, in a controlled and safe manner through
Key Accountabilities:
- Assist in the strip down, cleaning and rebuild of bakes 1 - 4
- Safe working of all machinery
- Proactive identification and rectification of faults
- Asset care
- Cleaning of equipment to correct method
- Housekeeping – daily and weekly cleaning schedules
- Attendance and contribution to daily review process
- Raises questions and concerns when faced with an ethical or compliance issue
- Applies integrity in all aspects of professional conduct
- Working closely with the production and technical team, helping where required on a day to day basis; with focus on H&S
- Reporting faults or damage to factory machinery and fabric and pursuing to a satisfactory outcome.
- Responsible for the swabbing process, both microbiological and ATP as applicable.
- Responsibility for stock checks and potentially placing orders.
- Stripping, cleaning and rebuilding all machinery in the factory.
- Completing all necessary records and paper work including training documentation.
- Meeting all health and safety responsibilities as defined in the health and safety policy and where appropriate advising
Skills and Experience:
- Understanding of COSHH regulations and chemical handling, ideally in a hygiene environment.
- Must have knowledge of recent hygiene legislation ideally, experience within a Bakery environment
- Must have the ability to communicate well at all levels including suppliers and customers
- Basic computer knowledge – Spreadsheets and Microsoft Office.
- Organisational skills, time management and able to prioritise
- Familiar with customer requirements and codes of practice, would be advantageous
