Rope Department Assistant - Training Provided

Guildford HR are pleased to be recruiting for the role of Rope Department Assistant on behalf of our client. This is a newly created role, and we are looking for a proactive individual to join the team. It is a great working environment, and you will be joining a long established and thriving arboriculture business based between Guildford and Godalming.

The splicing team work with various types of rope which are used in the arboriculture industry. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and a keenness to learn these specialist skills of splicing. The successful candidate will have the option to work towards the appropriate CE certifications.

This is a great opportunity for a candidate to develop within the growing arboriculture industry.

The main responsibilities for this role are:

• Supporting the Splicers on a day-to-day basis
• Computer administration
• Rope labelling
• Reeling meterage of ropes for customers and splicers
• Rolling stock takes

Skills Required

• Approachable and strong communication skills
• Experience in Microsoft Software
• Time management and organisational skills
• Be able to prioritise workload
• Problem solving skills with the ability to keep colleagues, customers and suppliers regularly informed
• Have a positive working attitude to welcome all enquires and problems as they arise

Due to the location of the company most colleagues drive to the site.

What we offer you

• Salary up to £23K per annum
• Working hours are Monday to Friday 8.00 – 17.00 with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break. Also, 2 Saturday mornings per month.
• 20 days holiday plus public holidays
• Free on-site car parking
