Position Overview & Specifications

This is an exciting opportunity for a 1.0 WTE Assistant Psychologist to join Greater Manchester Mental Health Foundation Trust Addictions and Homeless Services.

You will work within the Bolton and Salford Rough Sleeper Drug and Alcohol Teams supporting the delivery of their Neuropsychology service. However, you will also be able to have a role in service development and delivery across the wider Homeless Hub, supporting the work of Psychologists within the Homeless Hub.

You will be working alongside a Principal Clinical Psychologist and Consultant Neuropsychologist to support neuropsychological assessment and interventions within the Bolton and Salford Rough Sleeper Drug and Alcohol Teams. There will be opportunities to support the delivery of training across the hub, multidisciplinary working and liaison and service evaluation. You will receive regular clinical supervision from a clinical psychologist.

You will be expected to work in a wide range of community settings across Bolton, Salford and other areas of Greater Manchester as required and will need to adapt to the safety procedures of each. Travel is an integral part of the post.

The post holder will work under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist or Neuropsychologist to:
  • To contribute to assessments of service users, which may include reviews of case notes and clinical information, the administration of a range of psychometric tests, and direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with service users, carers and others involved.
  • To contribute to psychosocial interventions for service users with appropriate supervision and to the development of resources for Homeless Hub professionals and service users.
  • To attend and contribute to appropriate multi-disciplinary meetings as directed by the service lead.
  • To assist in the development of a psychologically-informed framework of understanding and care of the team’s caseload.
  • To assist in the design and implementation of service development projects within the service as required.
  • To assist the team in the design and implementation of audit, service evaluation and research projects.
