Position Overview & Specifications
This role is suitable for applicants with experience of working within ASC/related field, but a preceptorship would be considered for the right applicant (commencing on Band 7 and working towards 8A competencies).

You will undertake a range of activities under the guidance of a qualified clinical psychologist. This includes diagnostic assessments, 1:1 clinical work (incl direct psychological therapy developed to meet the needs of autistic people), post diagnostic group work, report writing, supervision of assistant psychologists, project work and data collection.
As the job involves working within a specialist context, we are looking for someone who has experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across a broad range of care environments (eg Outpatient, community, primary care and inpatient settings). You will have experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity.
Other key qualities include experience gained during supervised training of working with people with autism spectrum conditions; experience of teaching, training and/or supervision; awareness of national policy and guidance regarding Autism Spectrum Conditions; and an understanding of the needs and difficulties of people with Autism Spectrum Conditions.
Training in Autism diagnosis is funded and provided if required.
