Position Overview & Specifications
The team consists of multi-disciplinary professionals providing assessments, formulations and interventions to a range of service users both within community setting, as well as within secure services. The main role of psychology is to develop a collaborative formulation with the referring team as well as with the service user.
We are seeking an assistant psychologist to support the psychology provision, as well as the wider team, in providing a strong psychological and formulation driven understanding of mental health, emotional distress and trauma responses.
The post holder would be expected to work closely with the psychologists, wider multi disciplinary team members, as well as community services, in contributing to developing formulations, providing a range of interventions, as well as data collection and analysis.
- To work with the practitioner psychologist and to complete semi-structured psychological assessments, formulations and to offer interventions, both group and individual, to service-users across a range of settings.
- To contribute to specialist assessments to inform ongoing care.
- To support psychological perspectives and trauma informed understandings to the mental health team and wider establishment.
- To develop strong working relationships with partnership agencies and stakeholders to support safe and effective collaboration and management of risk.
- To contribute to the training of other professionals
- To assist with data collection and operational aspects of running of the team
