Warehouse Operator/Forklift Driver

Reporting to the Warehouse Team Leader, the Warehouse Operator will contribute to the development and success of the business by driving continuous improvement, achieving the lowest cost and highest quality through operational effectiveness and Health and Safety.

They will work within the Warehousing Team and need to be flexible, in terms of time, participation in activities out-with the normal scope of the job, participation in Health and Safety compliance, projects and work throughout the entire facility in the interests of the company.

Work Content

• Carry out all warehousing operations following SOPs
• Receive and store empty casks
• Fill empty and store casks of spirit
• Locate and despatch full casks of spirit
• Sample and regauge casks as required
• Fill tankers of new make spirit
• Disgorge mature casks and fill tankers
• Disgorge mature casks and fill into other casks for finishing
• Participate and contribute to improvement projects as part of a team or individually
• Complete all administrative and data collection tasks as required
• Report any Health and Safety issues and maintenance issues to Management
• Maintain the warehouses and site in tidy and hygienic manner
• Contribute to SOP development

Experience

Essential

• Prior working knowledge of warehouse operations
• FLT training
• Literacy and numeracy skills to an extent which enables clear and professional communication
• Prior experience of working within a COMAH or high-risk environment.

Desirable

• Microsoft office skills
• Understanding of computer stock control systems
• Basic electrical and mechanical skills

Education

Essential

• Good basic secondary education incorporating Maths

Desirable

• Brewing and /or distilling qualification
• HNC/HND or Craft Apprenticeship
